Gorakhgad is a fort that can be done easily in a day from Mumbai. Though not famous for any historical events, Gorakhgad attracts trekkers due to its inviting pinnacles, which offer good opportunities for rock-climbing. This region of Gorakhgad and Machchindragad has a dense forest cover. Fort Gorakhgad is quite small in size. It was had strategic importance during the reign of Shahaji Raje. However, no major battle is recorded to have taken place here. It was used in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj era to patrol the nearby region and was used as a stopover station during the journey to Junnar via Naneghat. Though small in size, there is enough availability water and a lot of space for accommodation. The fort gets its name from Saint Gorakhnath, who performed his β€œSadhana” in this place.

  • 10:00 PM – Depart from Pune (Chh. Shivajinagar)

  • 10:30 PM – Pickup at Nashik Phata.

  • 04:00 AM – Reach the base village (Dehri). Take some rest after the night journey and enjoy the fresh morning mountain air.

  • 05:00 AM – Wake-up call. Freshen up and attend the pre-trek briefing where instructors explain the safety measures, trekking route, and rappelling techniques. Gear up with helmets, harnesses, and gloves.

  • 05:30 AM – Start the trek through the lush jungle trail, surrounded by monsoon greenery, waterfalls, and misty valleys. Keep your camera ready!

  • 07:30 AM – Reach the top of Gorakhgad Fort. Take in the breathtaking panoramic views and enjoy a hearty breakfast with the team.

  • 09:30 AM – Explore Gorakhgad Temple and ancient caves, learn about the history of this fort, and click some epic photos.

  • 11:30 AM – Gear up for the main adventure: 250 ft rappelling down the steep rock face. Trained instructors ensure safety while you experience the ultimate adrenaline rush.

  • 01:00 PM – Descend to the base village, freshen up, and change clothes. Relax for a bit and soak in the satisfaction of completing the adventure.

  • 01:30 PM – Enjoy a wholesome lunch with your group. Share stories and memories from the trek.
